Hope is about 3 years old and
probably already had two litters. Thanks to a neighbor's vigilance,
she and Brother
were removed by the aninal control services from the place where
their were "living".
She was starving - look at her hip bones! - and close to death. She
was extremely weak, had numerous intestinal worms, has the heartworm
and was about to die. She was
dewormed and needed a blood transfusion. Nobody knew at that time if
she would survive... She did and she went from 17 lbs to 31 lbs (i.e.
she gained 14 lbs) in three weeks. She was treated for heartworm and
spayed. Hope is now a healthy dog and has been placed in a foster
home, where she is waiting for a good home of her own.
Hope is a very sweet girl and she enjoys playing with puppies. She also loves to take a nap in her crate. She likes being outside during the day, as long as she has a cozy dog house to get in to and a place indoors at night. She is so easy going and quiet you could forget she's there and she is soooo sweet!
Below are some before and after pictures. How can people be so cruel? The last ones show Hope and Brother's affection for each other - they have been through so much together!
