The St. Martin Humane Society is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation located in the heart of Cajun-Creole Louisiana. All donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.
Our History
The St. Martin Humane Society was founded in April 1999 by a group of concerned citizens. The Society obtained a 501(c)(3) tax exemption status in June 2000 and relies on community support and fundraising to fulfill its mission.
Our Mission
- To prevent and relieve the suffering of animals
- Aid in the enforcement of all laws relating to the subject of cruelty to animals and the lawful protection thereof
- Carry on a program of teaching and education on the subject of cruelty to animals and responsible pet care
- Reduce the overpopulation of domestic animals in the area served by the Society through spay-neuter and vaccination programs
- Seek the return of lost animals to their rightful owners
- Seek suitable homes for animals without owners
- Obtain and maintain shelters for homeless or abused animals.
